1. Specify Practices - setup the data file location for practices on the system.
2. User Access - create users names and passwords.
3. Menu Templates - create menus for the individual users/practices.
4. Workstation Regristration - register the individual workstations.

You may change these to your own secure entries under the User Access section. |
| Practice Menu
Setup
Select the menu selection for File then Practices. |
| Update the 'Practice Name' field
to your practice name for the MBS32 menus. The 'Datafiles Path' is the name of the directory under "F:\MBS32\DATA\" where data files will be copied from MBS Dos. NOTE: The question "Initializing will delete all records in existing Practice database, continue?" will overwrite any data files that exist in that directory. The safe answer is NO! This will leave all data files in that directory untouched. |
| You may enter as many practices as you would like for the MBS32 program menus. (Licensing for each practice is done through you support office.) | |
Select the menu selection for File then Users -> Access. |
| The system comes with the Master
user already. Create additional users by entering their Login Name, Password (may be
blank), Last Name, First Name, and MI. Then press "Create". |
| For this user you can specify
the Default Practice for the MBS32 Menu. Diagnostics can be written to the users individual computer or to a system wide location on the Server. User Level controls the amount of messages are created during Formatting processes by the User |
| Default Patient Demographic setting may be set to be retrieved when the user presses F3. | |
| Default locations from Help and the Web Browser Home location may be set for each user. | |
Select the menu selection for File then Users -> Menu Templates. |
| Each User must have a menu
system setup for each practice For example: if you have 8 users and each has access
to 2 practices you must go through this 16 times. To do this quickly select a previously created user (e.g. Master) and click 'Done.' You will receive the following screen. |
| The simplest technique to
installing menus for reach user is to click on the >> button after the User field.
This will bring up the user table. Select a user by clicking on their name. Then click the Done button. You may delete menu selection from this user to limit their access to specific program functions. You will return to this screen with the new User name selected. Click 'Create' to create the menu for this user, this practice. Follow the same procedures by pressing the >> button after the Practice field to create this users menu for another practice. |
| The Menu Commands option allows you to see and modify the menu options for the system. | |
| Due to the conventions of
Windows, each Workstation must be installed into the MBS Database
| This feature is disabled in the initial release of MBS32 but will be implemented in 2000. | |
| MBS32 can be configured to track AR aging by several methods for MBS DOS reports. These conventions are not used in MBS32. | |
| IMPORTANT: Do not enable
the Y2OK date convention unless the data files have been converted!
This screen controls the Data format not only the Internal Database format but also the format the User will use when entering data into MBS32. |
| Data File Recoveries are accomplished through the Admin facility and not through the Users menu. | |
