has begun to registered/contract users. All users must request the update, so if you

update FREE!
06/12/96 Patch Disk Needed:update 8.0a
- A patch disk is available for the intial release. A few items missed the release
diskettes and a patch is available. If you version number at the password screen reads 8.0
then you need the patch, if it reads 8.0a then you do not. Call technical support if you
have further questions.
- Missing Place of Service Table screen. From Main Menu selection 71A would produce
a Mount Error: file MBSPOS.PAN not found, Abort, Retry, Ignore. The file
MBSPOS.PAN was added to PRG142.EXE in disk number one of your MBS release diskettes.
SUGGESTED
ACTION: obtain and install the 8.0a patch and install it.
- Missing provider supplement recovery option command file. In the electronic
claims NSF setup documentations, you are asked to recover the Attending Physician
Supplement database file before setting up the provider parameters. When you attempt to
recover this file, you would get a Bad Command error and the recovery would
not happen.
SUGGESTED ACTION: obtain he 8.0a patch and install it. OR you can
use your MBS or DOS editor to create a file REC13SUP.BAT in your MBS programs
directory (e.g. C:\MBS\ or F:\MBS\ for Novell networks). This file should contain the
single line all caps: MBSRECOV.EXE MBS13SUP
06/13/96 Warning-bad installation of previous versions
discovered: We have discovered that previous installs of versions earlier to 8.0 have been
done wrong and are causing problems with the install of 8.0. To check to see if you have
this problem go to your MBS programs directory (i.e. f:/mbs on networks or c:/mbs on
single users). Now type the following: DIR PRG*.EXE If you have ANY files displayed
they must be DELETED! You must delete these files BEFORE installing MBS UPDATE 8.0. Be
very careful deleting files in this directory! If you are unsure of what you are doing
please call! If you have already installed MBS UPDATE 8.0, you must reinstall it after you
delete the PRG*.* files. If you require technical support on these items please call for
assistance.
06/19/96 Patch Disk Needed:update 8.0b

password screen, you already have these items): MBS50.EXE / PRG14.EXE / DISK 2

Script file NSF-THIN.SCR. Please refer to replacement pages A-7.8 to A-7.9.

you back to the Collections Menu. SUGGESTED ACTION: obtain and install the latest MBS 8.0
patch available from our support group. MBS72.EXE / PRG119.EXE / DISK 4
- NSF Provider parameter setup: when attempting to exit this facility, by pressing
the system responds with Exit are you sure?. If instead of answering Yes, the
user presses one more time, the system hangs or re-boots your machine. SUGGESTED ACTION:
do not use a second time but answer Yes and/or obtain and install the latest MBS 8.0
patch available from our support group. MBS13SUP.EXE / PRG114.EXE / DISK 3
- Patient Demographics with Password Security turned ON. When trying to update a
Demographics Record Billing Schedule, MBS verifies that the user has a security level of
at least 3. In the release the check is in error set to at most 3. This also affects the
System Integrator in the same manner. SUGGESTED ACTION: clients can update billing
schedules by changing to a user with security level of 1 or 2. Also, immediately request
the latest MBS 8.0 patch to correct this problem. MBS02.EXE / PRG11.EXE / DISK 1 and
