"A Family with Cancer" CD Announced "A Family with Cancer" contains educational cancer information for the whole family. The format provides several informational story lines; most story lines are understandable for children, other story lines contain in-depth information for more detailed understanding of cancer. The CD audience is: Children needing to know more about their cancer, Siblings and friends of children with cancer, their parents, grandparents and teachers. The CD is an excellent tool for health care providers to help them teach patients about the disease. Many sections are in Spanish.

HDR Annouces Three New SmartCard Products

1. The TB-Care SmartCard program is designed to transfer pertinent Tuberculosis treatment and health information to health care facilities. The program can operate: on a PC transferring information solely via SmartCards, can transfer information via the Internet as an ActiveX application, or can batch Email over Internet connection or direct modem. The TBCare program is modeled on the current state-of-the-art TBNet system. Data entry and access can be made by clinics or doctors administering treatment. Reporting compatibility with SPSS and Crystal Reports. TBCare operates in Spanish as "TB-Cura." Effective, secure, and mobile, TB-Care.
2. Vaccination-Care Card is a tracking system for Children's immunizations. The system maintains all drugs used in USA and Internationally.
3. Client-Card is designed for hospitals, HMOs, and physicians offices to eliminate redundant data entry functions. Patient information is transferred via a windows program accessing a SmartCard with Patient Insurance information. Data is then transferred into the individuals management software via an ASCII file or Windows ODBC.

CareManager Annouced CareManager performs medical billing and information management in a Windows 95 environment. Networking can be specifically directed to access Client/Server databases via TCP/IP for NT servers or IPX for Netware. CareManager is specifically designed to go beyond the typical billing and insurance filing of a medical office. Its database and reporting system design provides for use in multi-office physician groups or associations, small hospitals, or multi-specialty groups.

WebFriends added to our site! In a joint venture between HealthData Resources, Inc., Illuminati On-Line, and Children's Hospital of Austin, we have created a Live Video connection for hospitalized children to contact their family and friends using Cu-SeeMe software. It is our hope that this system will spread into a network of sites utilizing Cu-SeeMe technology to give children the needed support and family contact while hospitalized, thereby aiding in the process of care and healing.

MBS 7.0 Available for Download! MBS 7.0 is available for download from our WEB site! That is right, you can now download MBS 7.0 from our web page! MBS 7.0 is a fully functional medical management system. You must register the software with us to use it, but registration is free. Electronic claims is available for most states when you upgrade to MBS 8.0. Take advantage of this great offer! In addition to the entire program, the entire manual is available in the form of MS Word files.

11/01/96 MBS Patches Available from Internet You can now download the latest patch for MBS 8.0 right from our WEB site! Simply Go to our Download page and choose "PatchE". Don't forget to download the Documentation for patch "E". When you click on the item to download it your browser will ask you what you want to do with this file: choose "save to disk". Follow the instructions from the page on how to unzip the documents that tell you how to unzip the patch and install it.

10/10/96 Improved WWW pages! As you can see, we have updated many of our web pages to include the use of tables and other advanced features for easy viewing of the information presented. We have also added NEW graphics that are smaller and download faster but the animation is what we enjoyed the most. We have expanded our service to include the downloading of files and patches, which should be available some time this month. A fully functional form of our famous Medical Business Software is now available to download. This demo version is fully functional with the expectation of E-Claims. The demo version of our NEWEST medical software package, CAREMANAGER, should be available by December. CareManager will be a Windows and Windows95 software package similar to our MBS package. Look for it in our next report!

We also have begun presenting a new line of preventive health products. These products will soon be available for ordering directly from our web site. Many new and exciting things are happening at HealthData and we hope enjoy the benefits of being online! Our site is optimized for both Netscape and Microsoft Internet Explorer. We suggest if you haven't downloaded your copy of either browser, you should do so NOW, afterall, what better price could there be than FREE?!!

  1. "Y" - to indicate the user wants the physician’s name and Provider Id Number (PIN) to both print on box 24K
  2. "N" - to indicate the user wants neither to print and the box 24K is left blank
  3. "A" - to indicate the user wants the physician’s name ONLY to print in box 24K
  4. "B" - to indicate the user wants the PIN ONLY to print in box 24K

• Payer code table was expanded to include a "Form # Secondary" field. This field affects electronic claims for primary commercial carriers ONLY. Since commercial carriers as secondary claims can not be sent electronically at this time, MBS now includes this field for you to indicate the format to be used in case of secondary claims. This field should indicate a paper format. e.g. 09-P The claim formatting process will abort with the diagnostic message "Secondary claims may not be sent electronically" if this field is not set correctly or otherwise. The user should always check EOB’s to make sure that cross-overs are being performed. Otherwise, change the billing schedule to "33-Private Insurance after primary pays" for the secondary claim to come out. Also make sure that the number of days between sequential claims is set to 15 days (Practice Profile under MBS Configuration Menu ), if you are doing electronic claims.
• ReFormat flag functionality was expanded. The Shift F4 HCFA setup screen "ReFormat" flag can now take one of the following values:

1. ‘ ‘ - No action, reformat flag is not in use at this time.
2. ‘1’ - Re-issue a claim to the primary carrier on the patient’s demographics.
3. ‘2’ - Re-issue a claim to the secondary carrier on the patient’s demographics.

NOTE:Both above values triggering claims, would still follow the invoice schedule parameters setup. The claim is included in the claim formatting process.
